Material handling robots work hard, fast and reliably, moving through production and manufacturing in a way that is genuinely impressive. Driverless handling systems are not only talked about — they have become routine in major production halls everywhere. The technology keeps getting more convenient for users, and programming a service robot is now straightforward.
Automation demand is what makes driverless handling systems increasingly popular. East Yu Xiang electric linear actuators are used for several functions on mobile robots, most commonly raising and lowering loads.
One new robot design handles floor rollers using turnover boxes, and needed height adjustment built in. The robot carries a fork arm mounted beneath the floor rollers, so the mechanism has to lift and lower reliably within a tight envelope.
An electric actuator was chosen for the lifting mechanism. Fitting a hydraulic pump and the rest of the hydraulic hardware onto a vehicle of this size would have been very difficult, so a hydraulic solution was never really on the table. Compared with hydraulics, the electric actuator keeps the machine clean, simple and easy to control.
