For an electric actuator to run properly, the working angle is generally kept within 40 degrees. Doing so improves efficiency while reducing friction and wear. The actuator's mounting bracket also has to be designed sensibly, with the forces across the section analysed.

Because the loaded face matters, we build actuators in different lengths and models rather than one size for everything. Cylinder bore varies too — length alone is not enough to specify an actuator, so the bore has to be considered alongside it.
